Causes of allergies
Allergy is an increased sensitivity of the immune system to various environmental factors, for example: plant pollen, house dust mites and animal hair, various foods, medicines, cosmetics and detergents, and even to physical phenomena such as frost and the sun's rays, as well as to some pathogens of infectious diseases and even stress.
The most well-known allergic diseases are atopic and contact dermatitis, eczema, urticaria, including solar and medicinal urticaria, Quincke's edema, pollinosis, bronchial asthma, and anaphylactic shock.
Allergy symptoms
Allergy symptoms may vary depending on the irritant causing the reaction. Allergens are perceived by the body as a threat to health. It reacts to them by producing antibodies that provoke an inflammatory reaction. The characteristic consequences of such hypersensitivity are skin reactions, respiratory disorders (allergic asthma), as well as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, itchy mouth, conjunctivitis or lacrimation, redness and itching of the eyes, shortness of breath, heaviness in the chest, cough.
There are also concomitant symptoms: sleep disorders, constant fatigue, decreased performance and academic performance.
The doctor will determine the cause of the unpleasant symptoms and suggest methods to eliminate them.
Allergy complications
In cases where treatment is not carried out for a long time, the symptoms of the disease may increase, which leads to the development of more severe forms of diseases: chronic urticaria, bronchial asthma and sinus polyposis.
