What is "anal fringe"?

As a rule, anal fringes are painless, do not cause inconvenience to patients, and are discovered accidentally during hygiene procedures. In rare cases, if the folds are damaged or hygiene problems occur, inflammation may develop on irritated skin, and the patient may feel itching, burning, and soreness.

However, for most patients, these skin folds are a cosmetic defect that sometimes imposes restrictions on intimate life. This causes a desire to get rid of anal fringes, even if they do not cause physical discomfort.

How are anal fringes removed?

Excision of the anal fringe is considered a surgical procedure in which a coloproctologist simply removes excess skin.
