Treatment of non-communicable diseases

Urogenital diseases caused by "protozoa"

The "simplest" microorganisms that most often cause damage to the organs of the urogenital tract are trichomonads, giardia and amoebas. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) include trichomoniasis, a disease caused by Trichomonas vaginalis.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), up to 180 million people with trichomoniasis are registered worldwide every year. The infection is mainly transmitted sexually. The household route is also possible, through linen and hygiene items contaminated with the secretions of the patient. Infection of newborns from sick mothers occurs when the child passes through the birth canal of the mother.

The incubation period of the disease is on average 10-14 days. The clinical picture in women is manifested in the appearance of unpleasant-smelling foaming discharge from the genital tract and itching in the perineum and vestibule of the vagina. Men experience increased urination and burning, mild itching, and copious purulent discharge.

It is important to remember that in the absence of treatment, men develop chronic prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate), vesiculitis (inflammation of the seminal vesicles), cystitis (inflammation of the bladder), etc. In women, the disease occurs as an ascending infection with the appearance of endocervicitis (inflammation of the cervical canal), cervical erosion, endometritis (inflammation of the endometrium of the uterus – the layer lining the uterus), parametritis (inflammation of the fiber surrounding the uterus), adnexitis (inflammation of the ovaries).

An important role in the treatment of the above diseases is played by accurate diagnosis, which is aimed at detecting the causative agent of trichomoniasis. Trichomonas can be detected in the discharge of the urogenital tract, usually in smears during microscopy.

Treatment is carried out using antiparasitic drugs. Timely diagnosis and proper full-fledged therapy can completely prevent the formation of complications. Treatment of both spouses or sexual partners is mandatory.

The EMC uses modern high-tech sensitive diagnostic methods for trichomoniasis (PCR), which exclude the possibility of false positive reactions. Treatment of urogenital trichomoniasis is carried out according to approved European protocols. At the same time, the risk of chronic infection is almost completely eliminated.

Very big thank you to Dr.Turbovskaya Svetlana
As per all EMC clinics in Moscow where I have been, the service and the support is great. Beside the professional medical consultation and treatment, kindness and an excellent smiling attitude are the reasons I will look again for her support in case of needs.
