Rashid Hamidovich is proficient in various types of operations, mainly laparoscopic, including laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery, longitudinal gastric resection, gastric bandaging, gastroplication, gastric balloning, performs operations for hernias of the anterior abdominal wall, as well as hernias of the esophageal orifice of the diaphragm, cholecystitis and acute abdominal pathologies.
He has performed more than 1,500 bariatric surgeries, including repeated (revision) bariatric surgeries.

Experience and education
During his work and training, he additionally completed advanced training and advanced training in laparoscopic surgery, cosmetology and bariatrics. After successfully completing his residency, he entered the Graduate School of Surgery at the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy, under the supervision of Professor V.P. Glabai, and 2 years later defended his PhD thesis on "Rare complications of gallstone disease" at the A.V. Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery.
He completed an internship in obesity surgery in Cleveland Clinic, Florida, USA in 2004. In 2014, he completed an additional internship at Fresno California, United States under the supervision of Dr. Kelvina Higa, President of Bariatric Surgeons of America.
He worked as a surgeon providing emergency surgical care in a city hospital in Moscow.
He works as an associate professor at the Department of Surgery of Moscow Medical and Dental University under the leadership of the pioneer and leader of modern surgery, Professor I.E. Khatkov. Dr. Askerkhanov is also the head of the bariatric surgery course at Moscow State Medical University.
