The doctor is an expert in the field of conservative and surgical andrology. He is engaged in conservative and surgical treatment:
- erectile dysfunction (impotence);
- premature ejaculation;
- male infertility, etc.; chronic diseases of the pelvic organs (benign prostatic hyperplasia, urethritis, prostatitis).
To date, he has performed more than 4,500 urological and andrological operations, including more than 650 reconstructive operations for urethral lesions (strictures, hypospadias, injuries), more than 450 operations for Peyronie's disease and congenital penile curvature, more than 500 phalloprosthesis operations, more than 750 microsurgical operations for varicocele, etc.
In 2007, within the framework of the International Andrological Forum, he was awarded the honorary gold medal named after the founder of modern implantation surgery, Nikolai Bogoraz, for his unique surgical technique.
In 2019, he was one of the 16 leading experts on phalloprosthesis who were invited to Professor Wilson's international surgical masterclass.
Since 2019, he has been co-chairman of the League of Male Reproduction Specialists.
Research interests
Performs the full range of reconstructive urological and andrological operations, including: all types of operations for erectile dysfunction (phalloprosthetics, vascular surgery), reconstructive operations for traumatic lesions and strictures of the urethra, surgical treatment of male infertility, surgical treatment of premature ejaculation, penile geometry changes (operations to lengthen, thicken, correct deformity in the disease Peyronie's disease and congenital curvature of the penis), correction of defects after previous operations, plastic genital surgery, etc.
Experience and education
Since 2004, he has been specializing in conservative and surgical andrology, reconstructive urology, and genital surgery. He completed internships at leading European clinics in this field (Milan, Arezzo, Bari, Hamburg, Belgrade, Barcelona).
In 1995 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Smolensk State Medical Academy (SSMA).
From 1995 to 1996, he completed a clinical internship at the Department of Hospital Surgery of the SSMA. From 1996 to 1998 – clinical residency in urology at the Department of Urology of the SSMA.
In 2004 he defended his PhD thesis on the topic: "Prediction of postoperative complications and mortality in the surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia."
In 2012, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: "Reconstructive surgery of the urethra."
He is a regular speaker at annual international and All-Russian congresses and conferences, as well as a participant in surgical master classes as a guest surgeon.
From 2000 to 2003, he combined surgical and scientific work with the Research Institute of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy to study the etiopathogenesis of chronic inflammatory diseases of the male reproductive system.
From 2005 to 2011, he headed the Medical Department of the Professional Association of Andrologists of Russia.
Since 2011, he has been the Head of the Andrology Department of the Urological Center of the 3rd Central Military Clinical Hospital named after A.A. Vishnevsky.
From 2016 to 2018, he was a professor at the Department of Clinical Andrology at the RUDN University.
Since 2018, he has been a professor at the Department of Urology with courses in Oncology, Radiology and Andrology at the RUDN University.
Since 2020, he has been the Head of the Department of Urology at the Moscow State Pedagogical University.
Publications
He is the co-author of the monographs: "Clinical guidelines for andrology", "Peyronie's disease", "Reconstructive surgery of the urethra", the author of 8 methodological manuals on andrology and reconstructive urology.
