- surgical and conservative treatment of various types of strabismus in children;
- congenital and acquired eyelid pathologies (ptosis and neoplasms) pathology of lacrimal organs (dacryocystitis of newborns, stenosis, atresia and post-traumatic lacrimal tract damage); laser and conservative methods of treatment of ocular pathology of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye (optic nerve, peripheral retinal dystrophy, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration of the retina, retinal vein thrombosis, secondary cataracts, glaucoma, etc.);
- inflammatory diseases and eye injuries;
- diagnosis and correction of refractive errors;
- diagnosis and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity.
Experience and education
Since 1999, he has been working at the Department of Eye Diseases of the Pediatric Faculty of the Russian State Medical University, first as an assistant professor, then as a senior researcher. Since 2014, he has been an associate professor of the department. For 15 years he worked as a surgeon in the eye microsurgery department of the Morozovskaya Children's Hospital. Since 2005, he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Advanced Medical Education at the Russian State Medical University.
He is proficient in all modern methods of diagnosis, conservative and surgical treatment of eye diseases in children and adults.
Publications
Dr. Makarov led the development of new surgical laser techniques for the treatment of the anterior and posterior segments of the eyeball in children and developments to optimize the surgical treatment of strabismus, eyelid ptosis and lacrimal system plastic surgery.
He is the author of two developments of new methods of treating eye diseases in children, one patent, and more than 50 scientific articles in Russian and international medical journals.
