Graduated from Novosibirsk Medical Institute. From 2001 to 2011, she worked as a senior lecturer at the Department of Psychological Rehabilitation at the Moscow City Psychological and Pedagogical University. From 2007 to 2013, he was an employee of the Department of Community–based Psychiatry and Organization of Psychiatric Care at the Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry.

She completed her training in the program under the guidance of Bassel Van der Kolk "New approaches to trauma therapy" at the Justice Resource Institute in Boston (USA). Dr. Rivkina completed her postgraduate specialization in "psychoncology" at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (NY, USA).
