In 1977, he graduated from the Military Medical Faculty at the Gorky Medical Institute.
In 1979, he completed an internship in radiology in Vladivostok.
In 1986, he completed his residency in radiology at the Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg, Faculty of Senior Medical Staff.
