Arthroscopy of the ankle joint
Indications for arthroscopy of the ankle joint:

post-traumatic osteoarthritis of the ankle

sports pathology anterior and posterior impingement syndromes (joint movement restriction due to the presence of bone outgrowths, loose bodies, or soft-tissue formations in the form of scars (often post-traumatic)

dissecting osteochondritis of the talus

fracture of the posterior process of the talus
The operation is performed under general anesthesia.
During anterior arthroscopy, two arthroscopic punctures are performed on the anterior surface of the ankle joint, while during posterior arthroscopy, two punctures are performed on the posterior surface of the ankle joint.
Sometimes a double arthroscopy is performed simultaneously.
Duration of the operation: from 1.5 to 2 hours
Recovery after arthroscopy of the ankle joint
Depending on the severity of pain and the area of bone resection, the patient usually needs to walk on crutches with a partial load on the operated limb for one to two weeks.
The development of the volume of movements in the joint is allowed to begin almost immediately under the supervision of a rehabilitologist, who also prescribes massages, physiotherapy and individual therapeutic exercises with a gradual increase in workload.
