Manufacture of individual insoles and supinators
What is the advantage of the method of manufacturing insoles used in ECSTO?
In most techniques, the footprint is usually removed when it is loaded. The result is a kind of negative foot, rather than the foot itself in its physiological position. We remove the footprint in a relaxed position and then, by positioning the insole blank in the desired position, we give it the correct orthopedic shape. All this happens within twenty minutes. The patient leaves us with the insoles ready to wear.
What types of deformations can be corrected by wearing these insoles?
Wearing insoles helps in correcting hallux valgus and vagus deformities of the foot, pronation and supination of the calcaneus. The peculiarity of these insoles is that with their help it is possible to adjust each part of the foot individually. The front section can be adjusted in one direction, the middle section in the other, etc., and all this within the framework of one insole.
It is important to note that insoles are needed not only to solve foot problems. The foot is the support of the body. If the support is positioned incorrectly, then the load is incorrectly distributed to all higher departments of the musculoskeletal system: knee, hip joints and lumbar spine.
When wearing insoles, calluses that form on the foot when it is in the wrong position are eliminated, primarily on the heads of the second, third and fourth metatarsal bones. A corn is a protective reaction of the body to improper pressure. With flat feet, the heads of the metatarsal bones sink and corns form, which subsequently begin to cause pain because they become stiff.
It also happens that a patient suffers from pain in the knee joint without any organic changes in it, and this may depend, among other things, on the position of the feet. In this case, it will be enough to make special insoles so that the knee pain goes away.
How does the insoles manufacturing process work?
The patient's foot is fixed manually and held in the desired position using special devices. An insole blank made of special plastic material, preheated to an optimal temperature, is applied to the foot. The temperature of the material is comfortable for the skin and does not cause unpleasant sensations. Then the insole is modeled in accordance with the physiological characteristics of the foot and the tasks of correction. After that, the insole is adjusted to fit the patient's shoes. In less than half an hour, the patient can leave the clinic in new insoles.
What is the special feature of the insoles made in ECSTO?
First of all, insoles are not made for a specific shoe, but for a specific foot. Different insoles are suitable for different types of shoes. For shoes with heels below 4 centimeters and for shoes with high heels, they will differ because the bend of the foot changes.
It is very important that the insoles at ECSTO are made by the attending physician himself. And most importantly, these insoles are correctable. If the patient feels discomfort when wearing the insoles, their shape can be corrected in accordance with his wishes and treatment objectives. The work with the insoles is carried out until the formation of not only a physiologically correct, but also a comfortable foot position for the patient.
