Lip plastic surgery — cheiloplasty
Types of cheiloplasty
A large number of surgical lip plastic surgery techniques have been developed. Among the most common:
- The V-Y technique. The surgeon makes incisions on the inside of the lip mucosa in the shape of the Latin letter V. After suturing, the scars acquire a Y-shape, which gave the method its name. Depending on the desired result, 1 to 8 incisions can be performed. The operation allows you to change the shape of the red border of the lips, and due to the release of reserve tissue, the effect of moisture and fullness is created.
- The Bulhorn technique. The effect of this technique is based on excision of a small area of skin under the nose, which provides lifting of the upper lip. As a result, the red border appears wider, which gives the effect of enlarging the upper lip and correcting its volume.
- Lip augmentation with your own fat (lipofilling). This is a low-trauma procedure, in which there is no risk of rejection or allergic reaction. As a result, the lips look as natural as possible, acquire volume, and fine wrinkles are smoothed out.
To increase the volume of the lips, additional fillers based on hyaluronic acid can be introduced.

In the first 7-14 days after surgery, side effects may be present: swelling, soreness, redness of tissues, bruises. They usually take place within a week.
