Infectious diseases
In the EMC laboratory, serological studies performed to detect pathogen antigens in infectious diseases and specific antibodies to them are presented with an extensive list of tests and include diagnostics:
- viral infections,
- syphilis,
- bacterial and parasitic infections, infections caused by protozoa and fungi.
Serological studies are performed on Advia CentaurXP and Immulite 2000i automated immunochemiluminescent systems (SiemensHealthcareDiagnosticsInc, USA), on AccessII automatic immunochemical analyzers (Beckman Coulter, USA) and the Liaison analyzer (Diasorindeutschland GmbH, Germany), on automatic enzyme immunoassay the ELISYSDuo analyzer (Humang ), Germany).
Modern technologies underlie laboratory methods for determining markers of hepatitis A, B, and C, HIV infection, syphilis, the herpes virus family (types 1, 2, 6, chickenpox, Epstein–Barr), and the TORCH infection group (toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2), measles, helicobacter pylori, mycoplasmosis, chlamydia and other infections.
Such a fleet of analyzers ensures uninterrupted round-the-clock operation of the laboratory, including weekends and holidays.
