General clinical analyses
The laboratory of the European Medical Center performs a wide range of general clinical studies: studies of urine, feces, urinary tract discharge, fluid of serous cavities, sputum, cerebrospinal fluid and other biological fluids.
Urinalysis is performed at a fully automated station consisting of two modules: the automatic Clinitek Atlas analyzers (Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc., USA) and the Sysmex UF– 500i automatic urine cell composition analyzer (Sysmex Corporation, Japan). Samples are examined with a high degree of accuracy on the instruments.
The Sysmex UF– 500i Automatic urine Cell composition Analyzer is designed for preliminary automated examination of urine sediment with the identification of more than 30 objects: erythrocytes, leukocytes, epithelial cells, renal cylinders, bacteria, and more. The results of each study are analyzed by a specialist doctor to issue a final conclusion.
The stool is examined for general coprology, helminth eggs, hidden blood in the stool, and antigens of a wide range of viral and bacterial infections are determined by immunochromatography. A quantitative determination of fecal calprotectin is carried out on an automatic analyzer from Buhlmann (Germany), which makes it possible to justify the need for a colonoscopy based on the results of the analysis.
