Breast MRI screening
MRI screening – just 7 minutes per year for breast health
- More effective than mammography and ultrasound
- 99% accuracy
- The duration of the study is 7 minutes
- Painlessly and without radiation exposure
MRI screening is a special short MRI protocol of the mammary glands with contrast, which makes it possible to detect formations of small sizes 5-7 mm, eliminating the need for other research methods (mammography and ultrasound) .
Unlike standard MRI, which lasts 25-30 minutes, screening MRI is performed in just 7 minutes, which makes this technique more accessible for widespread use.
The sensitivity of the MRI scan is much higher than that of digital mammography and ultrasound, especially for young women with high breast density. The study is especially recommended as a screening for patients with a family history of the disease and/or a genetic risk of breast cancer.
The effectiveness of the technique has been confirmed in studies conducted by the American College of Radiology. So, in In a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, out of 443 women who underwent accelerated breast MRI, 11 were diagnosed with breast cancer that had not been detected by previous digital mammography and ultrasound. Breast cancer detected at the earliest stages can be successfully cured.
"The most common and widely available method of breast screening is mammography. Unfortunately, this method has limitations related to the peculiarities of the structure of the mammary gland. In women with mammographically dense breasts, the accuracy of the study may be as low as 38%.
Therefore, we recommend to our patients a short MRI protocol as a screening, the most advanced method for diagnosing breast health to date. In addition to the highest accuracy of 99%, its advantages include the absence of radiation exposure and the absence of pain during the study. With the help of a short MRI protocol, we get a complete picture of the condition of the mammary glands in just seven minutes."
