Circumcision of the foreskin (circumcision)

In the "pocket" between the foreskin and the glans penis, a secret is produced and accumulates, which is a favorable environment for the development of infection and chronic inflammation of the glans penis (balanoposthitis). As a result of chronic inflammation, scarring occurs in the area of the frenulum of the penis, which leads to its shortening. During sexual intercourse, the frenulum of the penis often ruptures, which is accompanied by bleeding and severe pain. Subsequently, a connective tissue scarring ring forms in the foreskin area – phimosis. The presence of such a cicatricial ring first leads to difficulty in opening the glans penis, and later to the complete impossibility of opening it. Men may experience pain and laceration of the skin of the cicatricial ring during sexual intercourse by the type of rupture of the frenulum. In addition, the presence of phimosis is dangerous due to such a complication as paraphimosis – the complete opening and pinching of the glans penis by the scar ring of the foreskin.
It should be noted that patients with diabetes mellitus are significantly more likely to develop phimosis.Moreover, there are studies proving that the secret is a carcinogen and can cause penile cancer in men and cervical cancer in women.
Indications for circumcision
Medical
- chronic balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans penis);
- phimosis (scarring of the foreskin);
- paraphimosis (pinching of the glans penis by the scar ring of the foreskin);
- rupture of the frenulum of the penis.
Religious
Cosmetic
Some men have anatomically pronounced foreskin, and therefore, from an aesthetic point of view, many patients wish to change the appearance of the penis.
Another significant indication for circumcision of the foreskin is the patient's desire to increase the duration of sexual intercourse. After circumcision, the patient experiences a decrease in the sensitivity of the frenulum of the penis, which leads to a guaranteed increase in the duration of sexual intercourse.
The EMC circumcision Urology Clinic performs plastic microsurgery according to international standards. Laser technologies and modern suture material meeting the highest requirements are used to achieve high results.
