Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery that aims to aestheticize the shape of the body by removing excess body fat. It is a mistake to consider this technique as a way to reduce weight. Its second name, liposculpture, speaks more succinctly about the essence of this procedure.
Through this correction, it is possible to get rid of unwanted adipose tissue from almost any part of the body. At the same time, the most typical areas undergoing liposuction are: thighs, anterior abdominal wall, pelvic and lateral areas. Less often – the chest, chin and the front part.
This aesthetic procedure has been the subject of heated debate for a long time. Long–term experience of liposuction allows us to state with full confidence the fact that, subject to the proper competence of the plastic surgeon and the thoughtfulness of his actions, the removal of fat deposits is a completely safe and low-traumatic procedure.
In a person who has no contraindications to liposuction, up to 2.5-3 liters of adipose tissue can be removed at a time. The degree of elasticity of the skin is an important factor influencing the prediction of the final result. With reduced elasticity of the skin, the correction program may involve additional lifting procedures.
The puncture sites are located in the natural skin folds, so that the traces of cosmetic surgery are invisible.
