Radiography, or simplified spine X-ray, allows you to evaluate the anatomy and diagnose diseases of the spinal column.
There are several options for performing this study:

X-ray of a certain part of the spine in two projections ("standard images"). It is performed to assess the condition of the selected area of the spine, if osteochondrosis is suspected, and to assess the height of the vertebrae.
- Snapshots with a functional load. This study makes it possible to diagnose the pathological displacement (mobility) of the vertebrae during movement.
- Stitching. Allows you to evaluate defects in posture.
In addition, the indication for X-ray is:
- determination of spinal column curvature, injuries and fractures;

diagnosis of degenerative changes, lesions of the vertebrae (for example, tuberculosis, metastases of malignant tumors);evaluation of the result of installing metal structures in the spine;setting the stage of systemic diseases (such as Ankylosing spondylitis).Sometimes an X-ray of all parts of the spine is performed.:
- X-ray of the cervical spine,
- X-ray of the thoracic spine,
- X-ray of the lumbar spine,
- X-ray of the sacral spine,
- coccyx X-ray.

Preparation for X-ray of the spine is not required.Standard radiography of the spine is performed in two projections – anterior and lateral. You will need to lie on your back and then on your side, respectively. When the study is performed with a functional test, the pose is selected individually, depending on the mobility of which segment of the spinal column needs to be checked. An X-ray technician will help you get into the right position.Any movement can negatively affect the image quality, so the X-ray technician will ask you to hold your breath for a few seconds immediately at the moment of receiving the image.
