On the day of the study
The study is performed strictly on an empty stomach (before the study, exclude food intake at least 6 hours before the scheduled time).
On the day of the study, it is allowed to drink only clean drinking water (not sweet or carbonated!).
Do not chew gum.
For research You should come in warm, comfortable clothes without zippers, metal buttons or rivets, etc. If necessary, you should change into a bathrobe (we will provide it to you).
It is necessary to bring all medical documentation with you: REFERRAL, extract from the attending physician (epicrisis stage), discs and conclusions of previous studies (ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET/CT, SPECT, etc.).
Cancellation of the planned study must be done 24 hours in advance.
Patients suffering from diabetes
- For those receiving insulin injections: on the day of the examination, a meal with simultaneous administration of insulin should be 4 hours before arrival at the department. The minimum allowable time between insulin injections and radiopharmaceutical administration is 5 hours. This rule significantly affects the result of the study;
- When taking tablet forms of sugar-lowering drugs from the sulfonylurea group (glibenclamide, maninil, etc.), it is necessary to consult with an endocrinologist about the possibility of replacing or canceling drugs of this group on the day of the study;
- Preparations of the biguanide group (metformin, glucophage) and thiazolidinediones (rosiglitazone) should be taken according to the prescriptions of the attending physician. If there are indications for conducting a study with intravenous administration of a nonionic iodine-containing drug (contrast agent), it is necessary to consult an endocrinologist in advance about the cancellation of biguanide group drugs 24 hours after the study.
