Microbiota DNA Test
What is microbiota
The gut microbiota is a community of microorganisms living in it. Up to 1.5 kg of bacteria can be present in the intestine at one time.
The main function of the microbiota is immune (the intestine contains more immune cells than the whole body).
The composition of the microbiota depends on:
- provision of the body with useful substances
- mood
- mental health
- body weight
It has been proven that the microbiota of thin and overweight people differs significantly. There are bacteria that occur in large numbers in people with normal body weight, while they are practically absent in people with excess body weight.
What determines the composition of the microbiota?
- nutrition of the mother during pregnancy
- method of birth (natural/caesarean section)
- nutrition of the baby (breast milk/artificial mixtures)
- taking antibiotics (especially in children under the age of 6 months – such people are more likely to gain weight in the future)
- lifestyle, diet
What the test shows
- microbiota quality
- microbiota diversity
- protection from diseases
- potential of microbiota for vitamin synthesis
- potential of microbiota for synthesis of short-chain fatty acids
- list of specific products to improve the composition of the microbiota
By getting a map of your "inner world" and assessing the composition of the trillions of bacteria living in your gut, the doctor clearly determines which foods you lack and which appear too often in your diet. The composition of the microbiota directly depends on your diet, and a lot of things in the body depend on the microbiota. By changing the nutrition system correctly, we influence the entire body through the microbiota.
