Second opinion in plastic surgery
What is a "Second Opinion"
The "Second Opinion in Plastic Surgery" service is a face–to-face consultation of patients who have been medically prescribed elective reconstructive surgery in order to obtain a second opinion from an EMC specialist on the disease and its treatment tactics.
Getting a "Second opinion" is a standard practice in the USA and in Europe. Before agreeing to surgery, the patient has the right to collect the opinions of various doctors and weigh the pros and cons.

Reconstructive surgery for medical reasons.
"Second opinion" — why in the European Medical Center?
- EMC is one of the leading multidisciplinary clinics in Russia and has been providing medical care in accordance with international protocols for 25 years. We guarantee the most up-to-date level of our work and strive to maintain it with the high professionalism of an international team of doctors and nurses, using internationally recognized diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms, including the use of the most effective surgical technologies.
-
We suggest that you get not just another doctor's opinion, but an opinion based on the experience of working in the best clinics in the world, where our doctors received education and advanced their qualifications. Among them are the Cleveland Clinic (USA), Hadassah Medical Center (Israel), Harvard University (USA), Yale University (USA), UCLA (USA).
-
You may be offered an alternative method of treating your disease, or perhaps another surgical technique, especially for high—tech medical care, which is limited in some regions for Russians. If, considering different treatment options, you were planning to have surgery abroad, we suggest that you find out if there is an opportunity to receive the same care in EMC clinics — surgical interventions in EMC are carried out according to international protocols.
-
Modern highly sensitive diagnostic equipment — high-tech radiation research methods that minimize the radiation dose, endoscopic examinations in conditions of drug—induced sleep, the most modern digital mammography - ensure maximum reliability and accuracy and help the doctor to conduct a follow-up examination of the patient if the diagnosis is in doubt. We can offer not only the expert opinion of EMC radiologists, but also the opinion of our foreign colleagues: partnerships with the University Clinic of Freiburg (Universitätsklinikum Freiburg, Germany) allow us to remotely consult leading European radiology specialists.
-
The EMC Pathomorphological Laboratory has no analogues among commercial laboratories in Russia. The laboratory uses histological and cytological examination protocols recommended by the American and European communities, which make it possible to provide a conclusion on diagnostic biopsy and any surgical material as soon as possible, including during surgery. The methods used in the laboratory have received the highest ratings from the independent external quality control organization NordiQC.
