Childbirth is one of the biggest challenges in a woman's life, which takes a lot of effort.
Postpartum recovery proceeds differently for everyone, depending on the characteristics of childbirth and taking into account the individual characteristics of the woman's body.
The main problems of the postpartum period:
1. Back pain.
2. Overweight.
3. Omission of the pelvic organs.
4. Urinary incontinence.
5. Weakness of the muscles of the anterior abdominal wall.
6. Hemorrhoids.
7. Depression.
Postpartum rehabilitation in EMS is a complex of therapeutic and preventive procedures aimed at restoring a woman's physical and psychological health in the first days/months after the birth of a child.
Postpartum rehabilitation at the EMC is carried out by a team of specialists: a gynecologist, an endocrinologist, a neurologist, an orthopedist, a rehabilitologist, and a psychotherapist.
The Women's Health Center provides postpartum vaginal rehabilitation for postpartum vaginal relaxation syndrome of varying severity, which often occurs in women after conservative childbirth (through the natural birth canal).
The syndrome of postpartum vaginal relaxation (relaxation) of the vagina is expressed in a decrease in the tone, elasticity and firmness of the vaginal walls. The main reasons for going to medical institutions are: impaired libido, postpartum urinary incontinence. Often, couples who face these problems become desperate and refuse sexual intercourse, which causes great harm to the family as a whole and to the woman in the first place.
BOS therapy
One of the methods of postpartum rehabilitation is BOS therapy (biofeedback), aimed at strengthening the pelvic floor muscles. This is the first-line therapy in the treatment of stress urinary incontinence (grade I and II), which often occurs after childbirth.
A special touch sensor is installed in the vagina, which reacts to the pressure of intimate muscles, and special electrodes are fixed to the area of the anterior abdominal wall, which pick up electrical signals from the muscles, followed by the output of all signals on the screen display.
This is a method of effectively restoring the function of weakened pelvic floor muscles, teaching them how to work properly. It has been proven that the biofeedback method is significantly more effective than even the most diligently performed exercises for the perineal muscles.
The Urostym hardware and software package is used for the procedure, which provides therapy based on BOS, electrical pulse stimulation, as well as their combined (i.e. simultaneous) effects.
The BOS procedure is performed within 30 minutes. The effectiveness of the method is 82%.
Laser therapy
The EMC provides laser therapy (fractional photothermolysis of intimate areas). The main feature of laser therapy is that as a result of exposure to laser energy, tissues are heated and the mechanism of synthesis of new collagen is triggered. The effect occurs on a physiological level and stimulates the body's own protective systems, which leads to the reconstruction of the collagen skeleton of the tissues of the urogenital region.
Positive effect of treatment:
-
reducing the volume and diameter of the vagina without changing its length;
-
restoring the tone, firmness and elasticity of the vaginal walls, eliminating their sagging (genital prolapse);
-
restoration of the vaginal mucosa;
-
smoothing of postpartum and postoperative scars on the walls of the vagina;
-
elimination of urinary incontinence symptoms.
Advantages of laser therapy:
-
the technique is safe for subsequent pregnancy and childbirth;
-
is produced without special preparation;
-
is painless;
-
guarantees the absence of complications and does not require rehabilitation.
The standard complex includes only 4 procedures with a break of 30 days. The result of the treatment is a complete recovery and a significant increase in the sexual sensations of both partners.
6-8 weeks after delivery, if there are no spotting, it is recommended to undergo laser procedures. They will speed up the process of tissue repair, restore the original volume of the vagina, restore elasticity and firmness of its walls.
The comprehensive, individual approach practiced in the EMC will allow a woman to fully recover as soon as possible after giving birth.
