Neurotic states

Neurotic disorders (neuroses) – conditions that occur against the background of long-term stressful and conflict situations. These conditions are associated with reactions to certain life situations, such as difficulties in family relationships, at work, etc. With neuroses, the patient is always aware of the pathology of his condition, and with the right therapeutic approach, a rapid onset of marked improvement and recovery is possible.

Such conditions are characterized by an exaggerated assessment of one's experiences, fears and sensations, a predominance of feelings of an indefinite threat to life and health, and the appearance of obsessive thoughts or actions. Stereotypical behavior is often observed, with avoidance of places or situations in which a person has experienced unpleasant emotions and sensations. Such feelings and behaviors become the only acceptable for the patient and cause changes in habits and lifestyle. A prolonged neurotic state often transforms into depression, often leading to serious psychological and somatic illnesses.
