Endocrinology is divided into:

• Section dedicated to tumors of the endocrine system. Various kinds of nodules, tumors, or simply structural changes (heterogeneity, hyperplasia) often appear in the endocrine glands. Very often, these tumors behave differently from most tumors of other tissues in the body – the endocrine tissue is generally very variable. At the EMC, endocrinologists work closely with specialists from the EMC Institute of Oncology and the Surgical Clinic.
• Neuroendocrinology is a section devoted to pituitary hormones that regulate the action of all other hormones. The pituitary gland is located in the very center of the brain, hence the name neuro. In this area, EMC endocrinologists work closely with neurosurgeons.
• The section is dedicated to the adrenal glands – small glands in the very center of our body that maintain pressure, determine the balance of fluid and salt, and also carry out most stress reactions. It is here that the most famous hormone, adrenaline, is produced.

When is an endocrinologist's consultation necessary?

If you feel discomfort in the neck area, the feeling of a "lump in the throat", which increases when swallowing. If you notice weakness, increased fatigue, drowsiness, forgetfulness, apathy, or a bad mood.
• Dry skin increases, nails become more brittle, hair becomes thinner, dull, begins to fall out, swelling appears, body weight increases.
• The pulse rate increases, emotionality increases, and a feeling of inner trembling appears.
• Dryness of the eyes increases, there is a feeling of "sand" in the eyes, lacrimation.
• You are overweight or underweight, or you experience sudden weight changes in a short period of time.
If you feel dry mouth, thirst, weakness, or a heavy head.
• With frequent urination, itching of the skin, furunculosis, fungal infections, visual disturbances.
• Menstrual disorders, infertility, discharge from the mammary glands outside pregnancy, increased irritability, frequent headaches.
