He graduated from Rostov State Medical University with a degree in medicine in 1997, and completed an internship in Psychiatry in 1998. From 2002 to 2006, he completed postgraduate studies at the V.P. Serbsky State Scientific Center for Social and Forensic Psychiatry. In 2007, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic "Clinical and social criteria of disability of persons under medical supervision."
He worked as a psychiatrist at the psychosomatic department of the S.P. Botkin State Clinical Hospital (2001-2002), a psychiatrist at the Psychoneurological Dispensary No. 15 DZM (2002-2012), and a psychiatrist at the intensive care unit of the Bakhrushin Brothers State Clinical Hospital (2012 - present).
