Cervical cancer at the age of 30 is not a sentence.

When a woman hears the diagnosis of cervical cancer at the age of 30, one of the important tasks for her and her doctors is not only to cure the disease, but also to preserve her reproductive function. One of our patients was confronted with such a diagnosis. Fortunately, she asked for help in a timely manner. According to the results of MRI of the pelvis with contrast and histological examination, the first stage of the disease was established. In several clinics in Moscow and Europe, she was offered a total operation – removal of the uterus with appendages. EMC doctors performed organ-preserving treatment: laparotomy (abdominal surgery), removal of the tumor-affected cervix with surrounding tissues while preserving the uterus and ovaries, suturing the uterus body to the vagina, suturing the isthmus of the uterus, scraping the endometrium, and installing the Mirena IUD. Six months after the operation, the disease went into remission. The patient was dynamically monitored every 3 months, with PAP and HPV monitoring. 2 years after the operation, the patient had her first pregnancy, immediately after artificial insemination in the EMC. The patient gave birth to a baby girl.
