Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows manipulation through several small (5-10 mm) incisions. Sometimes surgeons use laparoscopic instruments to perform tubal sterilization if a woman no longer plans to have children.

Contraindications to laparoscopy
There are not many contraindications to laparoscopy. Most often, this is acute blood loss in the abdominal cavity with hemodynamic instability, when there is no time to lose. The main contraindications to laparoscopy are also considered to be:
- a common oncological process;
- the inability to remove the tumor without rupture in the abdominal cavity;
- severe cardiovascular diseases;
- acute infectious diseases during planned interventions (surgery is simply postponed until full recovery).
Preparation for laparoscopy
General blood and urine tests should be performed 14 days before surgery. There is also a study of the biochemical composition of blood and the quality of clotting, an examination for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis C and B, a smear on flora, ultrasound of the pelvic organs and an electrocardiogram.
3-4 days before surgery, it is necessary to exclude fatty, spicy and gas-producing foods from the diet.
On the eve of laparoscopy, bowel cleansing should be performed at home and food and drink intake should be stopped 6 hours before surgery.
Rehabilitation
Hospitalization after treatment of uterine and fallopian tube pathologies usually takes 1 day, after hysterectomy – 2 days. At this time, the patient is in the hospital under the supervision of doctors. As a rule, after two or three days, a woman returns to her usual lifestyle. Full recovery occurs after about 2-3 weeks of the postoperative period.
Pregnancy planning after laparoscopy of the uterus and fallopian tubes
The timing of pregnancy planning can be different. It all depends on which pathology caused the laparoscopy. If the ovulation process is not disrupted, and the ability to conceive is preserved, then pregnancy can occur after 1-2 monthly cycles.
In some cases, additional hormonal treatment may be required, for example, after removal of endometriosis. In this case, the optimal period for conception is determined by the attending physician based on the results of examinations. After myomectomy — from 6 to 12 months, and after removal of cysts — after 1-2 menstrual cycles.
In cases of hysterectomy with ovarian preservation, a woman can use her own eggs for subsequent artificial insemination. In this case, she needs to contact a reproductologist.
