Vaginoplasty: narrowing of the vagina
Vaginoplasty (colporraphy) is a procedure for narrowing the vagina.
INDICATIONS FOR VAGINOPLASTY

Vaginoplasty is also indicated by complaints from patients with prolapsed vaginal walls about the unaesthetic appearance of the genitals due to the expansion of the vestibule of the vagina.
THE EFFECTS OF VAGINAL WALL PROLAPSE
When the front wall of the vagina is lowered, the bladder and urethra are displaced, which leads to varying degrees of urinary incontinence. When the posterior wall of the vagina is lowered, the rectum shifts, which causes violations of the act of defecation.
In addition to deteriorating health, women with this problem usually experience dissatisfaction with intimacy.
Colporaphy can be performed both surgically and with the use of a laser (laser vaginoplasty). Laser surgery is performed in case of slight vaginal prolapse.

HOW IS VAGINAL NARROWING PERFORMED
Specialists perform colporraphy using spinal or intravenous anesthesia. During the operation, the specialist excises the excess tissue of the overgrown mucous membranes of the vagina, then applies self-absorbable sutures. After some time, there are no traces of surgical intervention.
After vaginoplasty, the muscles return to the correct anatomical position. There is a narrowing of the vagina and, as a result, the elimination of unpleasant symptoms and complaints, increased sexual satisfaction.
Simultaneously with the narrowing of the vagina, perinerraphy (restoration of the perineum) is performed to give a more aesthetic appearance.
PREPARATION FOR VAGINAL CONSTRICTION
Before undergoing vaginoplasty, the patient must undergo a standard preoperative examination:
- general blood tests;
- urine tests;
- research on HIV, hepatitis, etc.
Additionally, before such an operation, a woman needs to undergo a PCR test for STIs.
RISKS OF VAGINAL CONSTRICTION
The risks of vaginoplasty (wound infection, bleeding, etc.) are minimized provided that an experienced gynecologist performs the procedure. The EMC employs specialists with many years of experience in performing the most complex surgical procedures, including for oncological diseases. Therefore, complications after surgery to narrow the vagina in EMC are practically excluded.
