Now almost every teenager actively uses a smartphone to access the Internet. Many parents of young users are wondering if this is harmful to their psyche. Scientists from the University of Basel decided to answer it - experts conducted a scientific experiment.
The study involved more than 300 teenagers who have a smartphone. According to the observations of psychologists and psychotherapists, it turned out that boys and girls spend an average of two hours a day chatting on social networks, watching videos, playing games, etc. In the evening and at night, the picture worsens: young people, having freed themselves from all business, simply cannot tear themselves away from smartphones. Only 17% of respondents turn off their electronic devices at night.
As a result of the experiment, it turned out that teenagers who actively use smartphones at night had depressive states and sleep disorders, weakness and fatigue symptoms more often than those who turned off their electronic devices at night. Therefore, scientists strongly recommend that teenagers turn off their gadgets an hour before bedtime, and preferably earlier.
